The whole topic of Angels is endlessly fascinating! If I had to pick, I think I would go with Archangels - for their strength and incomparable battle abilities!

E.M. Lilien (1874-1925) was a Jewish artist, born in Galicia, who was very influential in the Israeli art movement. His drawings of angels were particularly beautiful.

In the hierarchy of Angels the Thrones are envisaged as 2 fiery wheels with four eye filled wings. This motif may have given rise to the Victorian Angels with butterfly wings containing eyes. Seen here as entertainment in a Vaudeville show.

How many wings does an angel have? Sounds like trick question no. 2, but in angel lore cherubim usually have 4 wings (sometimes 6) and 4 faces - lion, eagle, ox and human). Their body & wings are full of eyes.
