THE INFINITE NOTHING AND THE GOSPELS OF THE NILE

Ezekiel saw in his vision a cherub with 4 heads. This could be the same cherub that stands at the gate of Eden, blocking the way to paradise.

Once one understands the gospels, one can enter into the divine paradise that is Christ.

The confronted, intertwined animals (in this case w/ bear-like heads) certainly have parallels in art of various media in Britain and the Continent. (Images: French MS G.57 fol. 4v; Lindisfarne Gospels fol. 139r; 8th-9th c decorated whale bone plaque from Norway). https://t.co/YRf9P1OImc

Well, if I ever decide to do a comic adaptation of one of the Gospels I have a pretty good reference of what Jesus might look like in the MP style.

With the spectacular Lindisfarne Gospels back on display in our Treasures gallery, curator Eleanor Jackson writes about its Chi-rho page. Find out why this feature of some medieval manuscripts is particularly Christmassy🎄 https://t.co/5M5uwSB6rV

indestructible temple,
dwelling of Him whom no place can contain,
O Mother and Virgin!
Through you all the holy Gospels
call blessed the One whom comes
in the name of the Lord.

Hail, Mother of God.
You enclosed under your heart
the infinite God whom no space can contain.

This shows Christ in Glory, surrounded are the 4 Animals, hinting at how Christ stretches out into the world (the four corners of the world). Secondly, the 4 animals together combine into the Christ, like the four Gospels give us the description of Christ’s ministry on earth

The above picture shows the four animals. Clockwise: human, lion, eagle and bull. The Book of Kells is an illuminated manuscript of the four Gospels. All of them have wings, which shows their divinity.
