Step 2. A Black Vulture I saw @HawkConservancy Trust in August. Coloured pencils and pan pastels on Pastelmat. 15th vulture drawing on A4, one more after this but the other 7 species I don't have access to (the yellow headed ones, the Cape vulture and the Asian gyps vultures).
An Indian vulture (Gyps indicus).
Vultures are one of the most endangered groups of birds, habitat destruction, persecution, poisoning, and bushmeat are factors in their decline. The use of diclofenac however is particularly devastating (1/2)
A Himalayan vulture (Gyps himalayensis). This is the largest of the Gyps vultures and possibly the largest bird in the Himalayas!
The white-rumped vulture (Gyps bengalensis) is a critically endangered species from South and Southeast Asia. This species was once conducted the most abundant large bird of prey in the world, in 2017 the global population was estimated to be less than 10,000 adults.
