It might be a Naruto reference in the movie.
But in Naruto it's most likely a reference to Ashita No Joe.

The art is from 2017 -- but here is Joe.
He's kind of a butt (mostly coyote, Borzoi, and other stuff), but he's also a bit of an unstable personality due to brain damage caused by a bear attack as a pup.
