@JoschuaKnuppe Lavocatisaurus is pretty similar to Nigersaurus, (which is more complete) but Lavocatisaurus is a bit less extreme. It looks a little off in the published skull reconstruction but the maxillary teeth would be angled futher ventrally, like in Nigersaurus and other sauropods.

Another weird feature of Nigersaurus is that it's head is angled straight down. Scans of the braincase have revealed the organ of equilibrium which showed that this was the habitual posture of the animal and it therefore should be depicted at such an angle.
When that one person ruins your day... 😂
Fun fact: Nigersaurus has more than 500 replaceable teeth! 😁

Welcome to #Nigersaurus week! This derpy looking diplodocid was one of the smaller sauropods in the #fossil record. Native to #Niger during the Mid-#Cretaceous, this #dinosaur represents an odd branch in the long-neck lineage.

With around 500 teeth being replaced every few weeks, Nigersaurus was a dentist’s nightmare. It was just trying to be just like a Hadrosaur, grazing on ferns right on the ground, unlike other sauropods who preferred browsing on trees! Wow!
#DINOCHALLENGE day 19. Nigersaurus. Color palette selected randomly on colorhunt, markings inspired by an Okapi. #PaleoArt #SciArt
Nigersaurus was possibly a low browser and used its head to feed close to the ground. It lived in a riparian habitat, and its diet probably consisted of soft plants, such as ferns, horsetails, and angiosperms. Art by Todd Marshall. Image from Jurassic World Evolution
The material of Nigersaurus consisted of an incomplete skull, ribs, forelimbs, the hip, along with the cervical, dorsal, and caudal vertebrae. In real life, Nigersaurus measured 30 feet long and weighed 4 tons, comparable in size to a modern elephant. (1/2)
When you wait ages for a dinosaur & then three come along at once...
Meet Wuerhosaurus, Fukuiraptor & Nigersaurus. The latter oddball described by legendary paleontologist Paul Sereno as "a cross between Darth Vader & a vacuum cleaner." 👍

Eocarcharia was a genus of Carcharodontosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in the early Cretaceous of the Sahara, it was discovered in 2000 by paleontologist Paul Sereno. It lived alongside dinosaurs like Suchomimus and possibly preyed on Ouranosaurus and Nigersaurus

Time to briefly revisit Elrhaz Formation with this #Nigersaurus taqueti model. Original reconstruction of this animal was among the first sauropods ever portrayed with a form of "beak" at the tip of the jaws.
