After many years I managed to get 1-4 of OMAC in one place. Solid story (gets a bit mind ending at the end). All Byrne. I don’t think there can be better post-Marvel Byrne. Done on magic paper to get those effects. Masterful stuff and the inks are slick too.

2 from Hunger Dogs (extremely underrated and misunderstood book), the iconic shot of Kamandi, and an amazing perspective shot from OMAC.

In some alternate universe instead of introducing the Fourth World characters in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, Jack Kirby published it himself. Along with Kamandi, The Demon, and OMAC all the while keeping the rights.

Do you think that OMAC was a story about soldiers used at the expense of a faceless government could have possibly anything to do with Jack Kirby's experiences as a soldier used at the expense of a faceless government?

OMAC has a strange design but is also cool. I like how Jack invokes the Spartan helmet with the hair style Buddy has with the mohawk and sideburns and I think some folks miss that design choice and just see it as lol goofy. When its intentionally to look like Mars God of War.

George Pérez Celebration day 9: I’m fairly certain my fondness for OMAC is all due to the character’s inclusion in DC Comics Presents 61 from 1983. Drawn by George, Pablo Marcos & Rick Hoberg. Mohawks never looked so good. Images pulled from the DCU Infinite app.
