#SciFi #Science: can a #fungus really take over our #brains? Several real-life pathogens can change a host’s behavior against their will. Here’s what we know about these #zombie-like infections

I never encounter a weird place, but I did, for the first time found out my cousin poop like this (right image); it was hilarious for the first time I see it because he also forgot to lock. I also do it now, because it avoids contact of any deadly pathogens on the toilet.
"bro why r u so angry"

thinkin bout pathogens crowmie...
im live btw
@scarletswitch11 @jakeIockley Folks seem to not realize that Superman has rogues designed to take his life. Be it kryptonians like Phantom King, humans mutated by alien pathogens like Parasite, to Mxyzptlk from the 5th dimension. There are plenty of fights to be had, what is lacked is imagination.
ben seeing two guys with 700 different pathogens in their boobs and a scar that looks like they were repeatedly mauled by a titty hating rabid bear: that should be me

Dr. Laura Estelle Yêyinou Loko, a researcher based in
Benin, is trying to increase the diversity of Beninese crops and reduce damage caused by pests and pathogens in the face of climate change.

In this short clip @YaneValdezT explains that there are actual cells in our immune system that send out grabby grabby hands to stop pathogens in our body. IT'S WILD!

@kprather88 John Snow started a clean water revolution at the Broad Street pump.
We need a #CleanAirRevolution because #COVIDisAirborne but so are many other pathogens as well as urban pollution & pollen- why should we continue to breathe dirty, exhaled air if we wouldn't drink dirty water?

Thanks @Cori_Zawacki @jamie_voyles for enabling the creation of this Rana muscosa/unicorn hybrid for the #AmphibianPathogens2021 Annual Meeting! 😂
Fun fact: As it turns out, there are only 3 out of 3000+ species of bats that are actually vampires! 🦇
In addition, blood is actually a terrible source of nutrition, with potential pathogens and overloaded with iron!
Therefore, it clearly only makes sense that he eats souls👻
#Microber2021 24: ZOONOTIC
Sometimes we're incidental hosts to pathogens. Ebolaviruses mostly infect non-human primates & bats. Our Ebola outbreaks start w. a spillover from these animals, before human to human spread takes over

#Microber2021 20: LUMINESCENCE
Yes, there are luminescent pathogens too... Vibrio harveyi causes luminescent vibriosis in farmed shrimp. This may involve widespread necrosis in their appendages, but what a pretty colour!

Natural enemies of environmentally mediated parasites and pathogens abound in nature. Can we do better to identify, measure, and harness these ecosystem services? @DeLeoLab propose 3 reasons why natural enemies deserve more attention for sustainable disease control.
