Here's the most important question you're gonna answer all day:
Out of all of Lady Shiva's one time only costumes, which one would YOU (yes, YOU!) like to see again?

(not restricted to just these four btw)

Just someone created entirely so that the next time a writer wants to use Shiva as a mindless jobber, they can use this all-new character instead.

Call her Madame Asura or something. Give her New52 Shiva's design while you're at it. Hype her up and then just keep her around.

I saw Shiva's face,
it broke space and time.
a dagger full of stars,
that then pierced my mind.

Vic is the strongest one but also the most subtle, and it comes about as a result of Vic's own life as well. It's not 100% Shiva's influence.
The most obvious case is Dinah during Simone's BoP. That's the clearest example to me.

... Kelley Puckett implied that Shiva's death wish stemmed from regrets over a life of killing all the way back in BATGIRL
My problem is not that there's no precedent for Shiva to be filled with remorse. My problem is that I think it makes her less interesting.

Gonna have lunch and then do the first long rant thread of 2023. Though I still don't know whether to go for one particular pet peeve about how Lady Shiva's been written lately or to go wider and look at one major problem that's manifested in a bunch of small ways over years.

But this part is just... baffling.

First off, we have Shiva questioning her very identity without Cass, which is, well, upsetting. It's the most explicit use of Shiva's obsession with her daughter so far, just straight-up saying she's nothing without her.

And that ain't nice.

This way, Shiva gets to hang out with people who she finds interesting (usually because they remind her of herself), and the other person has their entire worldview challenged by Shiva's mere existence while also functioning as a relatable PoV character for readers.

The most obvious point to make is that Shiva's rep as some invincible fighter who wins every battle she's in is a tremendously informed attribute, mostly used to hype other character up. That's not exactly news.
The other point is a bit more granular and a lot more bitter.

Having a bit of a moody day so I'm gonna go ahead and make it even worse by talking about something I don't like talking about for reasons that will be very clear soon: Lady Shiva's fight record!
Let's talk about wins, losses, and everything in between! Guest-starring: MATHS! 🧵

Sorry Grimnir, but the only thing I want "wrapped" is me in all four of Shiva's arms. 😤

Yes, absolutely. Question is a fantastic series on its own and Shiva's never been written better for my money.

Other than that, I can recommend Puckett/Scott's BATGIRL run (starring Shiva's little baby girl!), Simone/Benes' BIRDS OF PREY and Hill/Soy's BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS.

Since Dinah is "dead" one of Shiva's rogues could be White Canary, who would be a better villain than trying to make Shiva a villain.
