Today I drew a beehive and watched rainbows framing Skiddaw and worried a bit about bills and direction and winter and headaches ...but then I thought sod it, it's probably too late to get a proper job now anyway.

Photos, sketches and watercolours from the summit of Skiddaw Lesser Man. It would appear that someone has arranged the rocks and redundant iron fencing of the cairn into something like an abstract sculpture, or perhaps it was completely unintended, who knows?

Wandering back down Skiddaw

We've had wonderful news in the Lake District this week, as the first osprey has been spotted at Bassenthwaite 🦅
Seems like a good time to share my illustrated Bassenthwaite map commissioned by Ravenstone Manor- a 19th century, boutique hotel nestled in the Skiddaw foothills.

We've had some rain, that wet stuff that falls from the sky, especially in the Lake District, and here's a beautifully painted, wet-in-wet, 9.75" x 10.5" atmospheric w/c by Trevor Lingard, 'Looking towards Skiddaw'. Plenty more here: https://t.co/B2PBfSyroF

Nice wild wander up Skiddaw today. The hills are still here, still open and still awesome.
