今回はキャラクターセレクト画面を作りたくて、プロ生ちゃんとその仲間たちの素材を使ってそれっぽいのを作ってみた。
の仕様上、各キャラ16色の縛りがあり、アニメ調でも顔グラフィックがなかなか綺麗に減色できなくて手こずった。限られた色数で絵を描いてた昔の絵師さんって偉大だなー

Wanted to try and get some practice with larger sprites/portraits in because reasons, so here's an arcade sprite of Sailor Mercury I re-drew. Original on the left, my version on the right.

Fade transistion complete along with the ability to bank switch the tileset during the change! Having a blast with this.

While it doesn't look like much, the fade out effect is achieved by poking the memory directly, which is what I set out to learn how to do. Woohoo! I totally deserve a cup of tea now.

Completed the Portal/Door system for the engine today, had to rewrite it once, but it now takes in an area/door as a parameter and a custom teleport location so level design should be nice and straight forward. Event system next!

Positive feedback on player movement is really important I feel, so I worked on the collisions to give you a gentle nudge around an object if you only slightly touch it.

Map layering and some basic collsions done. Really need to do something fun like weather or blowing leaves next.
