#paleoart Thylacoleo rearing up like a kangaroo
Seems like a good excuse to share illustration of the Queensland Tiger again. This cryptid is often hypothesized to be an extant Thylacoleo, which is what I based it on – but it took A LOT of anatomical fudging on my part to make it look somewhat catlike. #cryptozoology #sciart https://t.co/mJ0o0um1t3
found out about a new beast today: thylacoleo
here's my lil sketch reconstruction
@Primal_Creation Thylacoleo. As far as the coloring goes, definitely warm colors similar to a mountain lion/cougar. I'm not sure what pattern would look best but i quite like these two illustrations. Maybe a melanistic version would be cool as well
@zrayUH A chance for a Thylacoleo to be in a museum piece? Sign me up! (and thank you for the chance!)

Got carried away thinking about the theoretical evolution and trying to stay accurate to descriptions. Based it mainly on thylacoleo with influences taken from quolls and cats for convergent evolution!
