Illustrations I've just completed inspired by my encounters with parasitic 'vampire' plants, that lack chlorophyll, and steal food from the roots of other plants. One is Hydnora africana in the Little Karoo, South Africa; the other is Phacellanthus tubiflorus in Hokkaido, Japan.
