Yesterday I went to see this beautiful tempera painting Tobias and the Angel, workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio. It’s on loan from and will be in Newtown until 5th of March.

By 1472 he was a master of the Guild of St Luke which allowed him independence. Even so he still worked with Verrocchio. He always preferred to a collegiate approach. Annunciation (1472-5) is an exquisite work where both Madonna & Angel are ideals of beauty.
