Anne Boleyn was beheaded at the Tower of London On May 19, 1536. Falsely accused her name was ran through the mud to make way for Henry VIII new wife Jane Seymour. But Little did Henry know even in death Anne's legacy would forever live on.

Anne Boleyn was beheaded May 19, 1536. Her ghost is said to still haunt the Tower of London, and a guard once claimed he saw her ghost leading an elaborate procession of knights and ladies in the Royal Chapel.

About the Holbein sitter with the thick neck - she's actually blond.

Also, in the opinion of historian Eric Ives, 'the Cheke story is suspect'.

I came across this beauty yesterday. 'The Marriage of King Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn'. Artist J. G Huck (born ca. 1759–1811).
Love the detail in Anne's Face.

On May 19 1536 Anne Boleyn was beheaded by a French swordsman at the tower of london. While her life ended there her story will forever live on in books, movies & TV shows. I highly recommend Claire Ridgway book The Fall of Anne Boleyn

Beautiful costume designs for the 1883 opera Henry VIII. Images below are for the characters of Anne Boleyn by Lacoste, Eugène (1818-1907).
