Chaykin is a god at drawing mean looking sonsabitches

Typhoid Mary by 1) Bill Sienkiewicz, 2) Brett Blevins, 3) Howard Chaykin, and 4) Marco Checchetto.

THE SHADOW (1987) by Andrew Helfer, Bill Sienkiewicz and Kyle Baker is a direct continuation of Chaykin’s miniseries. This comic is brilliantly illustrated and fucking hilarious at times. A black comedy in the style of JLI.

Ironwolf Fires of the Revolution. Chaykin says it’s the worst selling GN DC ever published. It’s a shame as it’s great. Tied to Chaykin’s Twilight series. Russell back on inks. Really good fantasy sci-fi. 17/x

The openning of my comic was structured like the ending of the first issue of Ckaykin's The Shadow (one of my favourite comics EVER). But my second page didn't work so well because, let me see, I'M NOT HOWARD CHAYKIN.

52. Hawkgirl # 50 a 56. La cabecera de Hawkman se convierte en Hawkgirl con el evento del Año después y Walter Simonson junto a Howard Chaykin toman las riendas de la serie estableciendo un tono muy interesante.

semi related but besides chaykin's American Flagg stuff you might enjoy Saenz's Shatter comic. also an 80s cyberpunk thing and one of (the first?) comics made entirely digitally

Leonard Pierce is back on the site today, with a review of Too Dead to Die, a just-released Image espionage comic from superhero comics and television veteran Marc Guggenheim and artist Howard Chaykin. (Cover art by Dave Johnson.) https://t.co/1IToTWi3n0

So many good options in this thread, but I think JLGL would get my vote, and my reasoning behind that is the underappreciated greatness of his collaboration with Howard Chaykin on Twilight. https://t.co/bnRwOrmweu

Howard Chaykin’s Shadow has been cited as a classic of the 80’s. I really enjoyed it, but I think The Shadow Master Series that followed is even better. A black comedy that lives and breathes the 80’s.

The 1996 Elsewords by Howard Chaykin set in the late 30s has a brown-clad Batman (way before Batman Begins!) against fifth-columnists and conspirators with WWII looming in the horizon. is Dark Allegiances!

You know what? This Lenil Yu variant to Immortal X-Men paying homage to Star Wars issue 1 by Howard Chaykin is *really* working for me. https://t.co/EAD2NpIEjA

What does it take to surprise a food writer?
At least a decent-sized alien.
