Another classic! Dragon Quest's take on Chimaeras is so delightfully goofy and a really fun take on combining multiple different sorts of animals. I've always kinda liked the almost reclining pose of their bodies, or maybe it's like a cartoon insect coming in for a sting.

Due to their wings being valued throughout the world and many DQ games for convenient fast travel purposes, it is stated in this monster’s description in Dragon Quest 11 that the Chimaeras has developed a fear of being hunted.

Instead of Legendaries, we have Chimaeras. To get them, u need common Essentures parts and the Chimaera Head Bust, which can be obtained in quests, story, exploration, or epic battles against the Chimaera themselves!

Fun Fact:
Actually it is not a shark. Helicoprion was more closely related to modern chimaeras than sharks.

Todays first Ecological Horror is the Chimaera!

Chimaeras can be dangerous to humans, considering their single venomous spine on their dorsal fin. They mainly feed on bottom-dwelling invertebrates such as crabs, octopi, marine worms, etc.

Stensioella

Possibly one of the most basal placoderms, its strange elongated body makes it hard to determine its relations, some think it might be related to chimaeras instead

ALT: similar to gemuendina its armor is like a mosaic made by small scale like tubercles
