Product of today's painted style shading practice. It's certainly not what I would describe as good, but I think I'm learning a little bit.
Colourists, would greatly appreciate any advice you might give me on improving my shading game 🙏🏼
I realized doing the colouring work how tough this is, A LOT of different ways to go, and doing that, there's a lot of back-and-forth until I find what fits to the project, often changing the whole mood of a panel. Kudos to all colourists, you're co-creators for sure.
'Tying Down the Rick.' Of the four Scottish Colourists, Francis Cadell was perhaps the most adept at drawing; his sketches stand out as a strong body of work in their own right.

Big fan of the Scottish Colourists, #Peploe in particular. I took these photos today at the wonderful @KelvingroveArt Museum in Glasgow.

John Duncan Fergusson.
Fergusson was a Scottish artist who was one of the original Scottish Colourists. He was influenced by the Impressionists and lived in Paris for a while. His work, and those of the other Colourists, remains popular.
If you were to pick the top five most influential watercolourists, who would you go for? I'm thinking Turner, John Sell Cotman, Fidelia Bridges, Albrecht Durer and beatrix Potter. #watercolour #arthistory #topfive
