Thoroughly enjoying Battle Of The Giants on currently - one of the Christmas Specials. Never lets you down, this show. Timeless comedy writing, superb production and great performances - not least from my favourite: the brilliant Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring.

A great, dramatic episode of tomorrow, if a headache in 1972 for director David Croft. "The water was a huge technical problem. I went into my office and there were 14 people there to tell me I couldn’t do the show." (Rehearsal) picture: Radio Times Archive.

How wonderful to see these scenes brought to life at last night's recording of the lost episode A Stripe for Frazer. really leads from the front, and it's been lovingly re-created. Hats off to all involved. 👏👏👏

Colours on parade: For nearly 40 years tomorrow's survived only as a black-and-white recording but it was colour-restored in 2008. Anyway, it's a belting episode. https://t.co/cdaTd5cevu

Now pay attention. No Godfrey, you may not be excused. I’ve been informed by GHQ that the bookazine will be available from WH Smith from 28 March. At ease.
