The BFG (2016) Despite its cgi tech marvels in lighting & animated/mocap characters, I'm left feeling lukewarm to a lot of the film's visuals. A missed opp to REALLY push its design. Not even Rylance's charm as BFG can save it. Feels a bit Spielberg-on-autopilot. Low tier.

if you ever see this strip of black dots during a silent movie, it's a sign that the film's original negative was processed via rack and tank, which involved wrapping the film around a rack and dunking it in a bucket filled with developing chemicals. silents were more handmade
