#345 Kriemhild
Kriemhild is believed to have been created from three different sources: Attila the Hun’s last wife Ildico, and 2 oral tales: the death of Sigurd, and a quarrel between two Frankish queens, Brunhilda & Fredegund, which resulted in the lesser’s husband’s murder.

🔴 Enero 1986: FREDEGUNDA.
🔴 Febrero de 1986: BRUNHILDA.
🔴 Marzo de 1986: MARTINA.
🔴 Abril 1986: JUDITH.
There were many powerful early #medieval female rulers, but few records of them exist.
Two 6th-century Frankish queens are an exception: Fredegund and Brunhild. Shelley Puhak, author of Dark Queens, explains in #Historia: https://t.co/5LgLPwWut0

50 years of bloody civil war were the price the Merovingian Franks had to pay for the feud between Fredegund of Neustria & Brunhilda of Austrasia during the 7th century. It may well be echoed in the Nibelungenlied's queenly quarrel of Kriemhild & Brunhild.
