Ezekiel saw in his vision a cherub with 4 heads. This could be the same cherub that stands at the gate of Eden, blocking the way to paradise.
Once one understands the gospels, one can enter into the divine paradise that is Christ.
The confronted, intertwined animals (in this case w/ bear-like heads) certainly have parallels in #earlymedieval art of various media in Britain and the Continent.
