It’s #WorldWaterDay22 and this year’s focus is to raise awareness about groundwater. Did you know the GCWW Bolton Treatment Plant treats groundwater from thirteen wells in the Great Miami Aquifer? It is in southern Butler County. The aquifer is 150-200 feet deep and 2 miles wide.
#WorldWaterDay2022 is about #groundwater - making the invisible visible.
With increasing water demands, it’s important to not overlook the impacts on groundwater ressources! It’s an important connection not only for us but for aquatic ecosystems too.

Had to do a submission for #Truegreen7redesign2 the only way I know how!
Aquidea, the Spout Pokemon (Water/Ground)
They use their long trunks to extract and store groundwater in their bellies. It can be dispensed with incredible pressure to deter enemies.

What are you thankful for today? I'm thankful for groundwater biodiversity.
Groundwater levels are plunging throughout America. Are we running out of water? Are we running out of time? We talk with Civic/Environmental Engineering Student Brook Thompson about how we can best manage (or fight for) both. Tune in to see if Dave Dies! Live 10:30am MST 3/1
The Ash Pond Series II. Photography by Tom Hegen. The structures pose serious health risks for the surrounding environment as chemicals in the ash can leach into groundwater and surface waters.

We have a number of #ArchivePeople in our reading room and work room, alongside our staff and visitors. These busts of John Morrison Groundwater & Patrick Smith Dunn watch over us on a daily basis, but we’d never admit that we chat to them! NMC/262 & 264 @ARAScot #Archive30
Researchers release new global groundwater maps https://t.co/ENPg1Oljdx #archeology #anthropology #history
The map on the left shows countries suffering from increasingly extreme water stress this decade (red & dark brown).
The map on the right shows countries whose groundwater will start running out this decade (yellow) or soon after (light green).

March 10 – 16 is National Groundwater Awareness Week! Did you know that 40% of Redmond’s drinking water comes from groundwater wells located in Redmond? https://t.co/tifdLvYZjH
Malvhina spout in the lovely spa town of #GreatMalvern has #groundwater piped from several valley springs within #MalvernHills Worcs. In celebrating National Groundwater Awareness Week this #spring water is a fine example of a popular watering hole where locals ‘take the waters’
