It's 8:15 AM. A tricoloured munia lands on a blade of grass. I stand still & calmly smile. I've seen them here many times. Then, a red avadavat appears as I drop to my knees. I haven't seen this strawberry margarita of a bird since 2019.

Pied kingfishers are expert hunters. They hover in the air to locate unsuspecting prey before snatching it with their dagger-like beaks. Then, returning to the perch, they gobble it up. Finally, they chill without any help from Netflix.
