#InsertAnInvert time- How much do you know about Gigatitan vulgaris?
Gigatitan is a giant (30~40cm wingspan) insect from Triassic Kyrgyzstan. It was a predator with a large mandibles and spiky legs, and may have eaten not only other insects but also small vertebrates.
Starting off with the first artworks I ever posted on this birdsite. These were for #InsertAnInvert wayy back in April. Also relevant for @InverteFest happening this week.
I give you, hermit crabs!
Greetings #InverteFest friends, it's all snowy outside but in this recent tropical illustration (which I can't reveal the full details of yet) I took the opportunity to #insertaninvert - two, actually! A leaf katydid (Phaneropterinae) and an ichneumonid wasp.
@franzanth I have some hermit crabs!
This was for #insertaninvert back in spring.
Yooo joining bivalve month, I'm drawing an obscure bivalve that I found recently (despite it's quite common on Indonesia, they said)
Hammer Oyster (Malleus malleus), sometimes another creatures are found sitting on top of Malleus, like barnacles and Spondylus
