Welp, then I’m glad to be one of the few who made a Mantella Frog girl who, humanised, would be actually Malagasy.
I mean, the fun part of making anthro/animal characters is learning where they come from and humanise them based on that, I mean, I even have a Mexican coded harpy! https://t.co/3ZDtbGxwNT

If someone would make fan art of Greta (yeah, in my dreams) and make her a dark/black-skinned girl, I would be cool with that, since Greta, as I once mentioned, would be Malagasy if she was human!

The roc is a giant bird of prey, big enough to carry elephants in its talons, that appears in Middle Eastern tales, including those of Sinbad the Sailor. It could have been inspired by the Malagasy crowned eagle or the elephant bird, both now extinct.

Another fun fact: Despite being technically “BioMechanical Frog girls”, Greta and Eva would likely be respectively Malagasy and Brazilian.
This is based mostly on the fact that Golden Mantellas’ habitat is in Madagascar, Blue Poison Darts being distributed in North Brazil.

Did you know that Malagasy conservation organizations struggle with fundraising because it’s hard to receive online payments in Madagascar? So this new partnership with Conservation Allies is super important! And, donations are matched through Dec 31!

Amazingly, the scan of the holotype of the new species, which we dubbed Rhombophryne vaventy (vaventy is Malagasy for 'big'), revealed a beautiful pill millipede, Zoosphaerium, in its stomach.
