Very beautiful and strange sea monsters, elegant distortions. The artifice of sixteenth-century mannerism. He worked in Roma 1580 – 1610. Judging by the dates - he lived only 30 years.

Giovanni Andrea Maglioli. Engraving. A merman and a woman riding the ocean with a sea horse.

It especially pisses me off to no end when it comes to the KyoAni KEY adaptations in specific, because it's more than often always "the eyes are x, y & z" but mostly done in a mocking or abrasive mannerism.

And you wanna know what? It's always from a close minded perspective.

When technique is obtrusive it becomes mere mannerism. It is only a means to an end—the manner of putting paint to paper. It hardly embraces the expressive side of painting.

Rosso Fiorentino, a master of Florentine Mannerism.

Renegade, Revolutionary, ‘Redhead from Florence’.

Bee beep. Regular visitors to this tweetiverse will know that I am a sucker for Mannerism. So today we celebrate Francesco Primaticcio (1504-1570) the Italian Mannerist who spent most of his career in France and whose weird pictures prove that no two Mannerists paint the same.

My dokutah! their name is Fran.

After being saved from Chernobog, their personality has morphed to a more... carefree, yet unsettling mannerism. Even Amiya felt distant from them as their smile no longer reach their eyes. Proceed with caution.

After all, "Uzaki doesn't look her age" is actually, like, rotten old statement. We have Komoe Tsukuyomi who's a TEACHER in a HIGH SCHOOL and she drinks beer and is a heavy smoker, FFS. WITH CHILD LIKE MANNERISM.

It's just the overused style tropes in animanga.

ARTHUR CALLAN
An oldblood werewolf and aspiring pianist, Arthur is the spitting image of a proper, modern gentleman with his polite and elegant mannerism. However, he's also awfully shy and often unable to enjoy the spotlight unless it's about his music

Catra naturally, (sub?)consciously, effortlessly striking elegant, powerful, alluring poses whenever she simply stands up... One-hand-on-hip is a Catra mannerism.
(I'm sure Twitter will show beheaded pics or just feet 🙄 unless you click.)

Not huge into drawing fanart but I started rewatching sometime ago and really like Nox's design and mannerism.

Parmigianino died in 1540. He was the leading painter of Parma after Correggio, and is celebrated as one of the originators and leading exponents of Mannerism. Reveal the story of 'The Mystic Marriage of Saint Catherine' in Room 8: https://t.co/M9eyZeiEvB

Inspiration: Alessandro Vittoria (1525–1608) - an Italian sculptor. He was very prolific so definitely check out more of his work. I like the elongated figures so characteristic of mannerism.
