Mercurysteam is really into suit design.
The Samus Returns gravity suit had already ascended from "varia but purple" to "badass chozo aesthetic" thanks to them.

I feel like Samus' face looks a lot less anime from what we've seen of her in Dread. Her concept art in Samus Returns was the same way, so I'm really excited to see how she'll look!!!!!! For comparison, here's some art from Zero Mission and Other M compared to MercurySteam's. :)

On this day 3 years ago, Metroid Samus Returns was released. Ridley was included in this remake of Metroid II, thanks to MercurySteam team's suggestion. Yoshio Sakamoto approved of the concept, believing that FANS WOULD LOVE IT, and it would make the story more dramatic.
