And of course, they even predicted the ontogeny of Trex way before Jane was discovered...
Somehow, they even have those big arms like those of the Bloody Mary specimen.

https://t.co/cfB5JVoHbv Hot off the presses: Ever wondered about bone homologies in catfishes?! Kole figured it out! Ontogeny rules! (Loads of beautiful images to boot). Tagging all catfish enthusiasts I can think of..

Fossils show populations living in Africa 160 kya already evolved brains equivalent in size of today, but braincases were shaped differently

Yes. Its a trait thats been discovered in 2020. as it turns out Stupendemys is sexually dimorphic and also changes a lot through ontogeny

Back in 2018 I drew an ontogeny study with my hypothetical elder design becoming more Utahraptor-like with age. The official elder design does get a hunched back and more heft that makes it resemble a real Utahraptor just a bit more, but I think they're still renaming the animal.

Again, because I love me some ontogeny, here is a paper on mesosaur embryos by Piñeiro et al 2012, suggesting viviparity in the taxon: https://t.co/HimXaD1KuH

Good old Pachycephalosaurus is irresistable. As the largest pachy and an animal with a fascinating ontogeny it saved itself a place on this poster.

Some fresh artwork I whipped up for Ali's new Biarmosuchian ontogeny paper (https://t.co/CigDXJfK2T)

Oh how I love therapsids :3

I wanted an organic way of contrasting the simple skulls of the baby biarmosuchians with the knobby adult skulls.
Enjoy!

It seems longer/thinner too. I don't suppose much is published about tyrannosaur head ontogeny? Although a very small tyrannosaurid dentary was described last year.

Just gonna bring it up again, it's amazing how King Kong 2005 predicted so many future paleo-memes, trends & discoveries.

For congratulation to our Master student who finished today (co-supervised with ). A very nice work on the morphology of the and what we can say about it (phylogeny, ontogeny, allometry).

This display shows a growth series of claws and thigh bones (femora) from the Jurassic dinosaur Allosaurus! This is why we love to have lots of specimens of the same species—we can learn tons about how these bones changed, inside and out!
