Long ago, the Pionpi people believed these birds were the messengers from their overlord Biokinton. But when Tatanga took over, he hypnotized them into being his personal soldiers. He mistook them for chickens when naming them, and refuses to correct himself.

The wildlife of Chai is said to be friendly, yet very territorial, and won't hesitate to spit their burning venom at whoever comes near. The Pionpi people used to be able to heal the scars from their attack, since tourists would sometimes get careless.

The Ancient Chai Kingdom was home to this population of monks who lived within the messy maze of pipes and wordshipped Bokinton. They may be long gone now, but their undead bodies remain intact and moving, no matter how many times they get stunned with a stomp.
