This one isn’t a joke or anything. It’s just a design I thought up for a Lady Plas. Ignore the right hand I didn’t color that in when I drew this lol. This is a bit of an older piece but I still like it!
We found out Plastic Man’s sidekick Woozy Winks’ full first name in Police Comics 74, which was Woozibald. This was in 1948.
It wouldn’t be until JLA 50, in 2001, where we’d learn Plas’ full first name, Patrick.

It’s been enough time since the book’s come out, and it’s only a single panel cameo, but woohoo, Plastic Man made a cameo in Superman Space Age! It’s always nice to see a Mike Allred Plas!
Look at this. Plas is supposed to be stretching, but it just feels like he’s floating. It just doesn’t work here at all.
I think the biggest flaw with Plas in the book is the art. The artist is great, but he just doesn’t seem comfortable at all drawing a stretchy character. It feels, again, stiff. There’s no energy to it, and it’s often so close up you can hardly tell what’s going on.
As for the Plastic Man material, I really can’t complain. Elongated Man is more known as the detective of the two, but it’s nice to see Plas seen as being more than a goof… even if he’s sorta written that way. But it’s nice that his past is actually acknowledged.
Reminds me of that one why where it’s explained that the reason who Plas called his son Luke “Ernie”, which was something that only happened maybe once or twice, was because he hated his son’s first name, and that Luke hates him for that. https://t.co/LbDr0xSArc
You know, I miss seeing Plastic Man in things, but you know who I also miss seeing? Offspring, his son. I think there’s a ton of fun and interesting stories you can tell with him, both with Plas and separate. Remember when he was a Teen Titan? Remember when he fought Black Adam?
Sometimes I look up Plastic Man appearances just to see if there’s anything I missed (they’re usually cameos) and they’re often great because I get to be introduced to artists who never drew Plas regularly, in this case Carlos Meglia in Adventures Of Superman 605.
One thing I really appreciate about Mark Waid’s main time writing JLA was that he made Plas something of a reader. It wasn’t much, but most creators at the time kinda showed him as a TV head, so a slightly more balanced view of him who looks deeper into what he reads is nice
This idea, that Plas and Woozy saw the world as cartoony, would become a status quo for the duo in the few appearances they made in later stories, including two Superman comics and a Shazam!. It wasn’t always as perfect as Barta and Nowlan’s pairing, but it still was fun! 7/12
(Kevin Nowlan apparently was also disappointed when he couldn’t full-on cartoon with his sections, but they still can shine through.)
I personally love them. The way they contrast with Plas’ POV, and how much of a freak he really would seem to people. 6/12

@D4hz4hn I honestly hope that Gunn lets Plas look just like this in live action (if it were to happen). I just think it’s more distinct than most other looks they try to push for him
