So similar yet so easy to see the differences. At a first glance someone could suppose that the porbeagle is a dwarf great white shark.

Widdershins, my porbeagle shark girl. Sharks are neat so I decided I wanted one. Based on her name, I suppose she can only turn left, like a weird Zoolander foil

New art is from a couple weeks ago; original art is from 2017

Trying to draw more regularly in the hopes that being creative will help me regain my confidence in art and possibly reduce my anxiety a little bit as the world implodes.

Here’s a doodle of my alt account character, Switch, and a redesign of my porbeagle shark girl, Widdershins.

It's Friday! Today's a 1843 Porbeagle Shark (Lamna nasus)!

This porbeagle looks awesome & the nose is quite pronounced accurate to their skeleton! The coloration is a cool addition. In real life they're often mistaken for great whites.

Our Porbeagle shark data is starting to roll in. Here is a 6-day depth profile of an adult male porbeagle shark. Daytime behavior (yellow) is characterized by highly variable vertical movements while nighttime behavior (white) is largely confined to surface waters!

Did you know Porbeagle Sharks (Lamna nasus) can live in almost freezing waters?!

It's so cold humans would lose consciousness in <15 mins! These sharks survive by warming important parts of their body up, called regional endothermy!

Did you know that Great White, Mako, & Porbeagle Sharks are cousins?

They're all part of the Lamnidae family, also known as mackerel sharks. They each have a similar streamlined body shape & are the some of the fastest sharks!

Porbeagle sharks use a rete mirabile, or network of blood vessels exchanging heat, to create regional endothermy!
