it's fucked up how most GPUs released over the past few years have built-in raytracing capabilities, but no games have released that look like this:

Normally computers treat light like spraypaint. If it gets painted, it gets lit. If it doesn't, it's shadow.

Raytracing is closer to how light beams actually work. A fuck ton of lasers bouncing off things, passing through glass and stuff.
