My reconstruction of the iron helmet remains found at fort, worn by a cavalry soldier stationed at the fort about 1700 years ago. He was probably a member of the Stablesian Horse, an auxiliary unit recruited from a region of Yugoslavia.

Here's something a bit unusual for the Late Roman fort(ress) at Alexandria, variously known as Parembole or Nicopolis. Nothing to see now, but it does play a prominent role in the Battle of Alexandria in 1801: it is visible in plans & paintings of the battle.
