Addendum: It's basically computer generated rotoscoping. Personally, I'm a huge fan of rotoscoping and I think it's a visually unique bridge between the two mediums, but not everyone's into it.
Either way, quit equating experimentation with the 'dEaTh oF aRt iTsELf' or whatever.

Animatic with Leopold, using rotoscoping. Filmed myself with marker case as the mask 😆 Can only publish some older unfinished stuff while working, sorry

In the second episode, I wanted to make an even more challenging experiment. I wanted to give the homage to "phenakistiscope" but I didn't know how. I made an animation from a video we made with . I tried rotoscoping.

Heya! I’m Maz from Australia 😊. The last few months I have been experimenting with digital art and have found a fondness for fanart rotoscoping. However I very much want to practice my still artwork too. P.s. the answer will always be coffee 💕😂

Would like to remind folks that Snow White used motion capture, rotoscoping, for their animation process...
They reused the same motion capture recording over many movies, because the source was motion capture rotoscoping. This image from Snow White was also used in Robin Hood

We use a technique called We draw manually over real footage, frame by frame (from line to shadows). 64 times in this case!

Demo available on Steam and virtual booth at Summercamp of Doom!

Red Earth was also one of Capcoms many dips in to Rotoscoping. Mostly for the bosses, but also done for Mai Ling, as well as Tessas cape. It honestly does it so well, there are times i sincerely can't tell!
