Malic acid crystals under polarized light microscopy, an intermediate compound in the krebs/citric acid cycle, metabolic chemical reactions that break down proteins, fats, and carbs to release energy.

Succinic Acid under polarized microscopy, its involved in several areas of metabolism, production of some polyesters and resins, and is also a food additive.
