Trying out different styles on small cuts of this paper. I like how you can scumble the pigment, but worry that I’ll ruin the market nibs as they take on the pigment from the page… will have to do some research.
Not sure which one I prefer!

Still setting up a sort of “texture palette” to eventually glaze, scumble and paint over. The final palette will be much cooler, but I like having bits of heat pop through. Should be fun… if I don’t F it up 😳

Okay, one more plug for , and then I’ll be quiet (at least for a bit):

If you like Terry Pratchett’s novels about witches (Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and the rest), you’re going to like Old Gods of Appalachia. I promise. Pour yourself a jar of scumble and listen.

Wanted to do some painting after doing lots of drawing. It's actually much harder to paint as you have to make your marks count more. Drawing you can kinda fake it and scumble it about to fix things.

Just a quick one to get back into it.

Pastel drawing, really love pastels how they can be scumbled like paint.
