I think the designers of Superfrog were trying to make a Sonic the Hedgehog game, hence the speed. 😄 For a bit of a more sedate platformer, I always liked Fire and Ice. Though the inertia on the main character does make him a challenge to control. I like it, but some might not.

If you can step up to 1MB CHIP then that opens you up for stuff like Superfrog, Super Methane Bros, Turbo Trax, Chaos Engine, ElfMania (with 0.5MB Fast) and stuff like that. 🤔 I mean, sure, you won't be running Rise of the Robots.. but that's probably for the best anyway. 😋

Fire and Ice was always my favourite Amiga platformer.
Maybe part of that is sentimental, as I had it from day one with my first Amiga.

Though, looking back on them now, I think maybe I'd rank Superfrog higher. 🤔 It's hard to judge. 🙂

You finished Superfrog? Wow, I'm impressed.
It's a huge game. I just didn't have the patience to learn the later levels. (Especially those bits where you get hit, slide down, get hit by something else, slide down, onto spikes.) 😋

I just watched 15 min of playthrough of that thing, and I have to say: holy f--ing s--! That is seriously cool. I've never really seen much of the Sega console stuff.. Which suddenly makes me realise where Superfrog may well have got a few of its ideas. 🤔
