Martha

Fittingly, Martha is the patron saint of butlers, cooks, homemakers, servants and so on. She is often associated with brooms, keys and of course, Tarasque.

In Eastern Orthodox tradition, she is also one of the myrrh-bearers who discovered the tomb of Jesus empty.

The legend of Martha and Tarasque hails from around the 12th century, and can be found in several sources such as the Golden Legend. Some theories believe that Tarasque is from Celtic paganism originally, with Martha supplanting the original hero/heroine.
