James Ussher was born #OTD 1581, his library, (containing over 10,000 books & gifted to @TCDLibrary by King Charles II in 1661) contains some of the finest manuscripts in the collection, which are being digitised as part of a @CarnegieCorp supported #VirtualTrinityLibrary project

In recognition of all her work and to mark the jubilee of women being admitted to Trinity, Olive Purser, the first woman scholar in 1906 and Lady Registrar from 1918 to 1932, was awarded an honorary MA degree by Trinity College at the Jubilee Dinner. #VirtualTrinityLibrary

François Fagel died 4 Oct 1746. In his lifetime, the family library increased significantly. In 1723, it contained approx. 5,000 volumes.
What remains? The #FagelCollection @tcdlibrary contains around 20,000 items!
