Day 19 of #birbfest2023 is the Wallcreeper, this little cutie here! And yes, I will be continuing this challenge until I finish all of the prompts, even though it’ll be the wrong month 😅
Is that a babushka Wallcreeper? Yes it is. Here is day 19 of #birbfest2023

Wallcreeper
Looking rather grumpy, but probably 'that's just how I look' ...
From a lovely photo by @BirdinginChina with thanks.

Wallcreeper dragons have adapted to live side by side with humans better than most dragons. They usually prefer wilderness as a habitat but some choose a more urban life and build their nests in abandoned buildings. Some wallcreepers may even live on people's balconies.
I completed this Wallcreeper illustration last year, but have only had it scanned recently. It was for a long time a dream bird of mine and I have been fortunate to see several in Asia and Europe.

Hey, Twitter! It’s #handmadehour and I’ve *just finished* making a slate ‘cliff’ mount for this pair of #glassart Wallcreepers... I’m not usually a fan of pink, but they have been moping on the wall begging for backlighting since I made them er... several months ago...
Watercolour Wallcreeper!! Feeding on the side of the cliffs of Les Baux.
Just finished this Wallcreeper illustration on the left. The summer male on the top right is from 2005, and the rock scene below is from 2010.
Here's a recent book review illustration for the @FT... 'The Wallcreeper' by Nell Zink, reviewed by Lionel Shriver.
