A rock/flying fakemon line based on Wiwaxia, Aegirocassis, and blimps (featuring one bonus fossil)! They're some of my fave prehistoric creatures so it was a ton of fun making them into pokemon 🦐
Cambrian Oddities Series 1: Aegirocassis benmoulai (top) and Wiwaxia corrugata (bottom), 2022, Ink on Heavyweight Sketchbook Paper
The two final Cambrian critters to top off the Cambrian Oddities Sticker Series 1!
Some detail shots. The image includes the radiodont Peytoia, trilobites Elrathia and Asaphiscus, mollusc(?) Wiwaxia and many other creatures that won't fit the single tweet characters lol. Be sure to check the link below to see all species and the story behind the scene.

Wiwaxia as a mysterious ally of the snail shamans! what's in there? I don't know
Thinking about how Pyukumuku is not only likely a reference to the Sea Bunny cucumber, but possibly also a reference to one of the famous fossilized soft organisms from the legendary Burgess Shale discovery, Wiwaxia Corrugata!

On this #Wiwaxiawednesday I find myself spending the night in Moline Kansas. It's been a day of collecting Permian marine fossils in SE Kansas. Yes, looking for very rare trilobites ... lots of critters but no biters so far. As much #SocialDistancing as you could ever want.
Why not. Wiwaxia corrugata.

Found these little #BurgessShale creatures at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History @morethanadodo - Wiwaxia (a bit squished after the transatlantic flight), Trilobite, Opabinia, and Marrella #FossilFriday
What do you get if you cross Wiwaxia with an annelid?
