A new patch has been released for Project X: Insurrection!

The patch makes changes to map E6M8, allowing users to achieve 100% completion.

Project X: Insurrection took many years to make, with degrees of detail not often seen in Wolf3D.

making a horror-ish fps for inspired by marathon and wolf3d.

playing around with grid based movement due to control limitations. most textures are placeholder for now.

Downloaded this new mod for Wolf3D, it's called 30th Anniversary Edition by Wolf3DGuy and it has so many awesome new features including an automap, extra difficulty, and 3 brand new episodes with new weapons.

And all of this runs on MS-fucking-DOS. Holy shit man, what a treat.

Iron Angel of the Apocalypse/Tetsujin - 3DO
Gameplay's not great (the controls are stiff compared to Wolf3D) but the isolated atmosphere, dark plot, and surreal presentation really elevate this game for me.
I can't even imagine how this would have felt to experience back in 1994

Wolf3D is a brilliant game. I didn't have a PC at the time, so it was a long time before I got to play it properly. But it's still so so well designed. Holds up well, even today.

The eyes was a nice pre-Doom/Wolf3d status-panel idea. Give an idea in the panel of what's happening to the main character, without having to try to animate it on a miniscule sprite. 👍 I'm a C64 guy through and through, but was impressed with the CPC version. It just plays well.

Huh.. I don't think I've ever played the MegaDrive version of Wolf3D. I've generally been playing the DOS version (lately, in DOSBox.) Though, strangely enough, these screenshots are from an Amiga version. Which was fun to tinker around with back when I didn't have a PC.. 😄

Going through my games to uninstall some and free hard space. Oh, I forgot I had this! Gonna give it a go. So nostalgic! I remember playing this back in the DOS era. Might play Return to Castle Wolfenstein sometime too! 😄

nintendo will probably sue me

the chaingunner is the funniest doom 2 enemy design-wise cause he's got the same stocky build as late-game wolf3d enemies

From what I've seen, Shadow of the Wool Ball and Rise of the Wool Ball take a lot of gameplay inspiration from Wolf3D and RoT respectively with a really unique cartoony style and new gameplay gimmicks, learned about these very recently and I'm really interested in trying them out

I have not been pleased overall with the way creating complex scenes like in Dimension of the Psyched has been working out using existing tools, so I am announcing a new level editor: MapCaster. Forked from the WindowCaster built-in level editor

lmao what??? this is bethesda's compromise to having the wolf3d textures in doom 2 without showing swastikas (from https://t.co/dANk271WB5)
