Even though I do a lot of work in the holidays, actually going back to work has shown me that I’m not as physically recovered as I had thought. As a fighter, this is something I’m not used to. So, it’s back to simple, less demanding paintings for a short while.

This has actually made me laugh out loud. I did the one in the right at the beginning of March. The one on the left, yesterday - exactly 5 months later. Now I can see how much I’ve improved 🤣🤣

@HoyleRosemary Thank you. I think the subject matter helps. I’ve just quickly done a cabbage white which is far less effective. Spotted a wonderful tortoiseshell earlier which may be my next attempt...

I don’t think I’ve ever been as soaked as I was on the beach at Dungeness on Sunday. It was an absolute delight to see this Horned Poppy - a little spot of sunshine in the gloom. Not sure my family enjoyed having to stop while I examined and photographed it! Still exploring ...

Tried underplay the background a little more. This has really stretched me but I’m moving in the right direction.

Enjoying revisiting some of my earlier finds now they in full bloom. I would thoroughly recommend this to everyone; the daily reminder that the world continues to turn is invaluable.
