I've been trying out some earlier titles for the and while it might not look like much, Cavelon by Jetsoft/Ocean possesses a cool, arcade aesthetic - not bad for 1984!

Featuring an innovative split-screen display and competitive multiplayer, Mike Riedel's Spy vs Spy is one of the greatest games ever made. Your opponent's agony when caught in yet another of your traps was absolutely exquisite - pure schadenfreude!

Designed and programmed by Manfred Trenz, Rendering Ranger R2 is a stunning visual showcase of what the was capable of. With pre-rendered visuals and sprite scaling effects, the end result often feels more like a demoscene production than a game!

Project-X was one of the hardest games on the Amiga, but it was also one of the best-looking; some wonder artistry by Rico Holmes!

I've been working on a video of Data East's conversion of Atomic Runner for the Mega Drive, and I was really impressed with just how great the game looks - there's so much detail in the artwork!
