Released in 1993, Streets of Rage on was a bold attempt to port the classic brawler to 8-bit hardware. Visuals and sound are great, but awkward controls, irritating enemy AI and collision detection drag it down somewhat.

With retro remakes all the rage, I would love to see Samurai Warrior: The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo updated. It was full of great ideas, but tech limitations meant much had to be cut from the final game.

Despite its looks, Fernandez Must Die is anything but a simple Commando clone. An endless army of troops and tanks blocks the road ahead, and it's all too easy to lose your way in its maze-like fortress!

Of the many coin-op conversions to hit the Midnight Resistance is one of the very best. Special FX crammed in everything from the arcade, and came up with a simplified control scheme that just worked superbly well!
