Atonal Dreams #gamedevblog week 23: https://t.co/F5MWdB0WxR
I wrote about a concept in which pairs of characters share dreams, in which one's mind determines the forms of both. How Collie dreams her own appearance led to thinking about what is or isn't sexual objectification.
Here's a question because I'm curious about people's psychology: Which of these two drawings do you consider to be sexual objectification?
I wanted to include a poll with the image, but since Twitter annoyingly won't allow that, it's in the next tweet in the thread instead!
@ManiaFig ...I was typing out an explanation about why I intended to do that but didn't bother, but instead I just spent a few minutes doing this!
BLEH. I've been struggling with this one (Brigrrnd, a bandit wolf) more than I'd like. Something just looks off about it to me. Maybe it's my depressed mental state though! I don't know. I feel I'm starting to get somewhere with it now, at least. Maybe.
I might consider this Somunculimp - based on a neurological thing, https://t.co/7bPKBOslOo - done for now. Not sure whether to give it eyes or not; I haven't here. (Also, Collie's animation here needs some cleanup, I see!)
Another one of these thoughts-manifested-as-monsters concepts! What does this make you think of?
(Side-on schematic drawing so then I can use it for a model reference.)
I need to design a few monsters this week, but since I'm trying to make each one an interesting manifestation of a mental state - rather than just cool-looking 'Lava Goblins' or whatever - good ideas are frustratingly tough to generate. I like this one though!
I forgot to tweet about this weekend's blog post, whoops! In it, I presented these quirky primary characters of the game I've now decided on a title for, Atonal Dreams. What impression do you get from these? Do they draw you in, put you off?

These are certainly some characters I have made.
