March 24, 1834: William Morris, English textile designer and leading member of the Arts and Crafts Movement, is born.
Morris was a lifelong friend of artist Edward Burne-Jones and they collaborated on a number of exquisite tapestries, including "The Failure of Sir Gawaine". 🎨

Referred to as the "Mother of American modernism", O'Keeffe's art was bold and innovative, and she saw success in her own lifetime.

February 25, 1639: Flemish painter Roelant Savery dies.
Savery was apprenticed to his elder brother Jacob, who was also a painter.
After his brother's death, Roelant became court painter to Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II (and his successor, Matthias).
