A little further progress on my Lammergeier…
It’s gonna take a while as she’s big, detailed and complicated (and I’m shaking the rust off) but I’m slowly getting into it and I’ll speed up as I go.
#FeatheredFebruary
For day 17 of my #ArtAdventCalendar I’ve gone with some of the Jaws from my upcoming @ladybirdbooks book Deadly & Dangerous.
It was fun having a go at drawing what lies under the fur & feathers, skin & scales for a change.
Bonus points if you can name the species.
Extra fun fact... despite that massively elongated neck, Giraffes only have neck 7 vertebrae, the same as humans and all other mammals with only 3 exceptions, manatees who have six, two-toed sloth with five or six, and three-toed sloth who have nine.
There’s still time to order our 2022 wall calendar, it’s got 13 beautiful wildlife illustrations, foil blocking, lovely uncoated paper and we donate a £1 from every one to the Namibian Pangolin conservation group.

@VelcroCow2 Might I humbly suggest ours…
Not that humbly tbh, it’s pretty nice 😉
If you ordered a calendar & are waiting for it, it’s either in the post already or in this pallet.
For everyone else, you know what to do 😉

I’m not saying you should preorder my 2022 calendar but I am and you should.
It’s got 13 different species in it, lovely uncoated paper, gold foil, a charitable donation from each calendar bought… you know it makes sense.

2/3 I love that in just a couple of years I’m able to take a second look at one of my ‘best’ & see how I can improve on what I did before.
I’ve added more detail, played with the lighting, worked into the mane & muzzle & I’ll be working on his eye a bit too.
