Toro! An often overlooked Invader! Thomas Raymond looked like he was dressed by Namor but he had the powers of the Human Torch! “Killed“ by the Mad Thinker, but did it last? Father of Frankie Raye? Maybe so! Appeared in some modern tales; I would’ve like to see him as a Defender!
Danger! Room!
The Danger Room first appeared way back in X-Men #1 (1963)! This Lee-Kirby detail in Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters caught my attention like nothing else at the time. As improbable as the training was I enjoyed every reading minute of it!
When the Titans met the X-Men! Marvel and DC Present (1982)! Superstar talent: Chris Claremont, Walt Simonson, Terry Austin, Tom Orzechowski, Glynis Wein! Darkseid, Dark Phoenix & Deathstoke! “Apokolips...Now!” I find it fascinating today that Wolverine wasn’t on the front cover!
Do you remember Squiddly Diddly, Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole?
Not exactly Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny - but boy they bring back good memories!
A gap in my collecting... I know almost nothing about The Forever People!
But how can you not be intrigued by a team that includes characters named Big Bear and Beautiful Dreamer? I assume it is Kirby at his weirdest best!
What do you know? Kirby Krackle or a frantic fizzle?
Who forgot the Spot?
An odd Marvel villain that I enjoyed! The Spot was funny and creepy too. Created by Al Milgrom and Herb Trimpe as a Spidey foe, Dr. Jonathan Ohnn had inter-dimensional portals spotted on his skin. He could remove those and throw them. Weird!
Acroyear! The stoic, serious, responsible warrior & king of Spartak was a nice counterbalance to Bug in the Micronauts! He filled the “power” role,” had a cool design and a rather tragic story. Unfortunately Marvel no longer has the rights to the toy based character. A favorite!
