What was the best Janet Van Dyne Wasp costume?
Here are my favorites in no particular order!
The Human Torch, when starring in Strange Tales, was very much at the center of the early Marvel Universe! Guest stars, new villain introductions, and even the Beatles! The Human Torch helped launch Marvel Comics as we know it, but seldom gets the spotlight any more.
Tom Orzechowski! Letterer extraordinaire! Definitely on the Mount Rushmore of Letterers! He impacted Bronze Age books like the Uncanny X-Men more than fans recognize with great placement and shapes of dialogue boxes, effects, and clarity even when the scripting was verbose. P1/2
The Fantastic Four! Some of my favorite cosmic covers with the team! In many ways the FF’s exploits were more cosmic than other heroes getting that adjective! The FF launched Galactus, Silver Surfer, Skrulls, Warlock & more!
I prefer the cosmic Jack Kirby and John Byrne covers!
Doctor Strange! Strange indeed! Sometimes mysterious, creepy and odd.
What era of Strange was your favorite?
Cruel Clowns! Other than the Joker who are the creepiest clowns in all comicdom?
I lean toward the Cruel Clowns (created by Robert Kanigher and Mike Sekowsky in the 1969 issue of Metal Men #36)!
But who do you think are the strangest or scariest? Here are some options!
Hot Stuff loved the Hostess cakes!
What’s his favorite? Devil’s food of course!
Superman horror! Even the big blue Boy Scout has had bouts with scary situations, terrifying transformations, and monstrous enemies! The brightest star of DC Comics could not escape Halloween style horrors!
What comic showcases your favorite space monster or alien?
Ghosts! Comic book Ghosts! There were many anthology comics about ghosts, but there were also quite a number of characters with “ghost” in their moniker if not reflected in their power! Marvel and DC and others had their share of white-clad mysterious characters!
